Field Descriptions

Setting Description
Wall Orientation Define wall orientation as left or right
Wall Alignment Select Outside Edge, Inside Edge, or Center.
Walls to be Exterior Define whether walls are interior or exterior
Walls are Load Bearing

Define whether walls are Load bearing or Non load bearing

Default wall width

Define wall width

Default top elevation of wall

Define default top elevation

Default bottom elevation of wall

Define default bottom elevation

Standard Heel Heights

Define heel height size

Custom Heel Height; set to '0' to use standard heel heights Define heel height or use 0 for standard heel height
Heel height measured at outside of Fascia

Define how heel height is measured

When multiple pitches are used on the same roof, adjustments must be made to the heel heights or overhang lengths to get the fascia to line up. The point for fascia alignment is the outside of the fascia and not the end of the truss overhang. This setting provides the ability to define the outside of the fascia and have the truss overhangs stop at the inside of the fascia. Note that this check box is only enabled if the Fascia Adjustment is not set to "None" and the overhang is less than or equal to the fascia thickness input in the Fascia Adj drop down list.

Cant dimension

Define default cantilever dimension. None should be used only on interior walls with no planes attached. Exterior walls with planes must have a cant and overhang attached to them; use the 00-00 setting for exterior walls with planes.

Overhang Length

Default value for a wall to have a specified overhang length. None should be used only on interior walls with no planes attached. Exterior walls with planes must have a cant and overhang attached to them; use the 00-00 setting for exterior walls with planes.

OH: How measured?

Dimension for overhangs:

- OutPnt for farthest top chord point

- InPnt for the farthest inside point of the top chord

- Rake for the rake

OH: End Cut

Set overhang end cut as follows:

- Plumb

- Square

- Angle

- Seat (previously DblCut)

- Fascia

Note: When a left and/or right overhang on a rafter is set to zero (0) this setting is not applied to that end of the rafter and a Plumb cut is used instead. This setting is applied on any overhang value of 1/16 or higher.

OH: Angle 1

Define overhang for first angle

OH: Angle 2

Define overhang for second angle

OH: Length of Seat or Fascia Cut

Define length of seat cut or fascia cut

Fascia Adjustment; set to '0' for None

Adjust fascia or use 0 for none

Hip Drop Dim for flat TC segments Define hip drop for flat top chord
Wall veneer Enable veneer for a wall
Beam veneer Enable veneer for a beam
Default veneer width Define default width of veneer
Gap between wall and veneer Define gap distance between the wall and the veneer
Veneer is load bearing Specify whether veneer is load bearing
Veneer to match wall elevation When set to True, veneer will be created at the same top and bottom elevation as the wall.
Default top elevation of veneer Define the top elevation of the veneer; this does not have to be the same elevation as the top of the wall.
Default bottom elevation of veneer Define the bottom elevation of the veneer; this does not have to be the same elevation as the top of the wall.
Defining edge is the veneer When enabled, the distance input in the Layout Commands text box on the Settings dialog defines the length of the wall to the outside of the veneer and not to the outside of the wall.
